PRACTICE: BEGINNER’S MIND
The following are just a few ways that you can condition yourself to being in a state of openness and curiosity.
When spending time with other human beings ask interested questions (questions that draw the attention away from yourself) instead of interesting questions (questions that draw the attention to you).
In situations where you might otherwise be tempted to argue, debate, or criticize, ask questions instead.
Meditate before going into new spaces or new scenarios, and then enter with an open mind, curious to discover something you don’t already know.
Remember that all of the resources pertaining to your life’s purpose, that you haven’t yet figured out how to access yet, are already accessible to you. If you haven’t figured out how to access those things, perhaps it’s time to take an inventory of what beliefs or habituated ways of thinking or being you need to consider releasing in order to see the access more clearly.
Keep a journal of new things you learn every day.
